Brian O’Connor

Brian O’Connor will be joining S2G in May 2026 as a Managing Director and Co-Head of the Special Opportunities investment team, where he’ll focus on sourcing and managing structured finance solutions for the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Brian brings over two decades of experience to the firm, with a track record of providing creative capital for asset-heavy industries. Prior to joining S2G, Brian was a Partner at Global Infrastructure Partners, where he led credit transactions across the power, renewables, and digital sectors. He also spent 12 years at Ares Management, helping to build and lead a team overseeing transactions across senior debt, mezzanine, and preferred equity. Earlier in his career, Brian held roles at EIG Global Energy Partners, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, and The Blackstone Group. Brian holds a BS in Accountancy from Villanova University and an MBA from New York University.
